Who I Am — Victor M. Borras

I am a proud, longtime resident of West Haven, where I have lived since 2007. This city is not just where I reside—it is my home, a community I deeply love and am committed to serving. West Haven is also home to one of the top 50 VA hospitals in the nation, a source of pride and a reminder of our responsibility to those who have served our country.

I am a devoted husband, a father to one son, and a proud grandfather of four. My life is grounded in faith, family, and freedom—values that guide every decision I make, both personally and professionally.

I had the honor of serving as City Councilman for the 8th District in West Haven from 2021 to 2023, where I worked to represent the voices of my community with integrity and dedication. Prior to that, I proudly served in the United States Army in 1991—an experience that strengthened my love for this country and deepened my respect for all who wear the uniform.

My commitment to public service began early. I served as an Auxiliary Police Officer in Derby and later as a Fire Department Chaplain in West Haven. In these roles, I stood alongside our first responders and community members during both challenging and meaningful moments—offering protection, guidance, and compassion when it mattered most.

I also spent nine years working for the City of West Haven in both the Tax and Building Departments. During that time, I gained firsthand insight into the everyday struggles of working families and small businesses. Those experiences shaped my understanding of government—not just how it operates, but how it must improve to better serve the people.

Today, I serve as a manager with Frontier Communications, where I continue to lead, mentor, and advocate for both my team and the customers we serve. My journey—from military service, to local government, to the private sector—has given me a well-rounded, real-world perspective on the challenges families face every day.

I am not a career politician. I am a public servant who has lived the values I speak about. I believe strong communities are built on personal responsibility, respect for law and order, and a genuine commitment to helping others.

I am committed to continuing that service—working hard, standing up for our community, and delivering real results for the place I am proud to call home.
